Great to finally make it official, as part of the project development team, Blox received a grant from the Ethereum Foundation for developing SSV (Secret Shared Validator) nodes. SSV was defined by Vitalik as one of the components in the Eth2 roadmap:

Blox will use the grant to expedite development efforts and for smart contract auditing purposes. The SSV development has already begun alongside key contributors from the Ethereum Foundation and additional industry leaders.

SSV will allow for more secure, decentralized ETH staking by splitting validator signing keys between different parties in a trustless and secure way.

Next on the agenda is creating a testnet where multiple parties are able to perform signing duties. The testnet will be available in a few weeks’ time.

Currently, most of the development efforts are happening in house by the Blox core team. We would like to use this chance to call on more contributors to join in. We are available on Discord and would love to see more people participate in our mission of making Eth2 accessible and ensuring the network stays fair and decentralized.

We would like to thank the people that have made this project a reality and who keep contributing their time and energy to the SSV cause; Mara, Collin, Dankrad, Aditya, and Carl.
